SHOW NOTES
I'm the Marketing Director for Cañada de la Virgen, a certified organic, grass-fed, grass-finished cattle ranch and federally protected sanctuary in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. I'm originally from Chicago, but married a Texas cattleman who has ranches in Texas and Mexico, and I turned his hobby cattle ranch into a grass-fed meat operation in 2015. I have since moved on to one of Mexico's only certified organic ranch, where in addition to marketing and sales, I focus on educating the community about the importance of raising grass-fed cattle, and what that means. I have learned how to butcher our meat, and have hosted Hour Hours in on on-site butcher shop, so people can get familiar with our almost "closed-loop" production. I am an advocate for the fair and respectful treatment of cows, and believe that holistic management is good for the farm, the animals, the people and the community.
I'm also an avid sketcher, and in addition to sketching the world around me, I lead groups of artists around Mexico, taking them on adventurous sketch tours --and always include delicious grass-fed beef!
