The History of American Food

This podcast by our very own Greta Hardin is currently on episode 76 and in the 18th century! Greta is a history buff and has a background in teaching science, and her knowledge of chemistry informs her understanding of food.

The podcast is divided up into seasons that cover periods dictated by the major wars in the history of the US.

Starting with the first English settlements in the 17th Century, this podcast traces how we went from barrels of salted meat & peas to Korean bbq tacos and the largest grocery store selections ever seen anywhere in the world. Greta will take you everywhere - and it is full of surprises!
