A celebration of the community of women entrepreneurs growing local businesses and cultivating the next generation of thriving family farms, meaningful livelihoods, and sustainable enterprises. In support of the Rural Action Sustainable Agriculture Program, this smart and educational toolkit is full of heart, as well as inspiring and entertaining stories highlighting the power and tenacity of Ohio women farmers and business owners. In harmony with the Rural Action mission to build the local food sector as an economic driver, this book embodies the philosophy of peer-led education. As told by the voices of Ohio women, this toolkit is a map for all individuals and organizations interested in creating vibrant local economies, as leaders in their own communities, and in and effort to work together to make this vision a reality. Rural Action is a regional community development organization working with members and community leaders on quality of life, environmental, and economic projects across Appalachian Ohio. Their mission is to build a more just economy by developing the region's assets in socially, financially, and environmentally sustainable ways.
